Snohomish County has its first school closing due to the swine flu outbreak.
Odyssey Elementary School in the Mukilteo School District will be closed on Friday.
The decision to close the school was made after learning that a parent of a child who attends the school is one of the suspected cases of swine flu in Snohomish County.
The student has also been ill, said Andy Muntz, school district spokesman.
Snohomish Health District officials recommended that the school district close the school.
Health officials are also checking to see if other kids in the school are sick, he said.
